Title: Devoted Affection
Author: [personal profile] kyrios
Pairing: Tatsu/Takeru > Sayuri/Hana
Rating: G, it's all fluffy XD
Summary: Tatsu plans to go level up with Suzaku and Sayuri, forgetting Takashi was out of town. Thus, it is only Tatsu and Sayuri to form the party, which Tatsu honestly doesn't mind. What he doesn't expect though is for Sayuri to give him a certain rare weapon when they're done in an area.
Disclaimer: I do not own the .hack series. It belongs to Namco Bandai and CyberConnect 2. I do however own Tatsu/Takeru, Sayuri/Hana, and Suzaku/Takashi, my .hack//G.U. OCs.

“Come on… Surely you two got my e-mail…” A frustrated Tatsu muttered to himself as he watched Dol Dona’s Chaos Gate. He was waiting for Suzaku and Sayuri to gate in so they could all go level up, but so far, neither of them had shown up. His e-mail had said to meet up in Dol Dona, but he kept checking his member addresses and it said both were offline.

Finally, Sayuri’s changed to online and, shortly after, she arrived in the Root Town. “Hey! Sayuri!” Tatsu called as he ran over to her. Sayuri gave him a smile when she spotted him.

“Morning, Tatsu! I guess it’s just you and me today, huh?” she asked. Tatsu tilted his head in confusion.

“No, Suzaku should be coming. I sent him an e-mail too,” he replied. Sayuri was quick to return the confused look as she shook her head.

“Suzaku’s away for a kendo tournament all weekend, remember? He told us he would be,” she stated. Tatsu facepalmed and groaned.

“Ugh, I forgot about that. Well, I guess he’ll just have to catch up to us later!” he said with a shrug as a light bulb went off in his head. Usually, the three of them formed a party, but Tatsu could never recall a time where the party was just him and Sayuri. Not that he could ever recall leaving Suzaku and Sayuri on their own together, but that wasn’t the point. ‘Sweet! Now’s my chance to spend some alone time with her!’ he thought to himself.

“—tsu? Tatsu? Aren’t you going to add me to your party?” Sayuri broke through his train of thought. He gave a sheepish grin.

“Oh yeah, sorry about that, Sayuri. Hold on.” Clicking through the correct menus, he sent her an invite. “There we go,” he replied with a grin on his face. Seconds later, he got the confirmation she joined and her stats appeared below his.

“Perfect! Now let’s show Suzaku that we aren’t hopeless by ourselves,” Sayuri said, giggling. Tatsu nodded and motioned towards the gate.

“Right this way, m’lady!”

“And once again, the great Tatsu conquers all!”

It had taken a little longer since Suzaku hadn’t been with them, but Tatsu and Sayuri had finally cleared out all of the monsters in the area and gathered the symbol fragments. Well, Sayuri had while Tatsu had been having his own little victory party every time, much like he was doing now.

“We make a pretty good team, don’t we Sayuri?” Tatsu said with a grin as he turned, only to find her nowhere in sight. “Sayuri? Where’d you go?” he called out, starting to get a little panicked. He then glanced up at his map and, upon seeing her cursor over by the beast temple, let out a sigh of relief. “Don’t scare me like that!” he said when he finally caught up to her. Sayuri simply giggled.

“I told you I was going on ahead to the beast temple, but you weren’t paying attention. Just check your logs,” she replied. Sure enough, right there in his logs was her saying that. Figures. “Anyway, I already got the item from inside, but I can’t even use it,” she said. Tatsu tilted his head.

“Oh, what is it?” he asked.

“Dual Swords. Apparently they have a five star rarity. Would you like them?” Sayuri replied. Tatsu gave her a small nod.

“Sure, ‘cause you’re right. A Harvest Cleric has no need for them.” Sayuri gave a nod and a couple of seconds later a notification saying Tatsu received the Lit Honeysuckle from Sayuri appeared on his screen with an option to immediately equip them, which he selected yes. “Thanks!”

“No problem. Though, tell me, Tatsu. Do you know what honeysuckles symbolize?” Sayuri asked him, folding her hands behind her back as she smiled at him. Tatsu blinked in confusion. How was he supposed to know what different flowers symbolized? His parents weren’t the florists.

“Uh… no, but I’ve never really thought of flowers symbolizing anything to be perfectly honest,” he replied. Sayuri giggled again.

“Not surprising,” she said, her smile not fading. “Do you want to know what they symbolize?”

Tatsu shrugged. “Sure, I guess. What do they symbolize?”

“‘Devoted Affection.’”

Takeru felt his face heat up and prayed that Tatsu’s own hadn’t turned red. “D-Devoted Affection…?” D-Did she give these to him on purpose then?

“Yeah, is something wrong?” Sayuri replied, tilting her head. Tatsu shook his head in reply.

“N-Nah, I was just surprised, th-that’s all,” he said, rubbing the back of his head. Another giggle came from the girl.

“Don’t worry, Tatsu. You and Suzaku both are still my dearest friends,” she said. “Got that?” Tatsu nodded and gave her a smile, but Takeru could still feel his own face was red.

“Of course! And I wouldn’t trade you and Suzaku for anything in The World, heh :)” he replied.

“That’s good, I’m glad :)”

“So… how about we go find a new area so I can test these bad boys out?” Tatsu suggested with a grin on his face.

“Sounds like a plan to me!” Sayuri replied with a smile as they headed towards the Chaos Gate.
